Eligibility

The new eligibility came into effect in September 2026.  Families receiving Universal Credit will now be able to access free school meals.This expansion provides financial relief for families.  If your household receives Universal Credit, you could save up to £495 per year per child on school lunches.  Beyond the financial benefits, this ensures children receive nutritional meals during school hours. Parents or carers who think they may be eligible should contact school, who will check their eligibility and help register their child(ren) for free school meals. Further Information on Free School Meals  Expanding free school meals: what parents need to know
